Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information PerchSight (the "Service") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies together with our Terms of Service.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your name, email address and a hashed password, along with session data (such as IP address and browser user agent) used to keep you signed in securely.

Brands you create

The brand names, descriptions, colours and images you add to organise your accounts.

Data from connected social accounts

When you connect a social account, the platform gives us an access token limited to the permissions you approve. Depending on the platform, we use it to read:

  • Profile information: account or Page ID, name, username, profile picture and bio/description.
  • Account statistics: follower, subscriber, like and view counts.
  • Your published content: posts and videos with their captions, titles, links, thumbnails and publish dates.
  • Content statistics: views, likes, comments, shares and other insights the platform provides for your own posts.

The permissions we request are:

  • Facebook: pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement, pages_manage_posts, pages_manage_metadata.
  • Instagram: instagram_business_basic, instagram_business_content_publish, instagram_business_manage_insights, instagram_business_manage_comments.
  • TikTok: user.info.basic, user.info.profile, user.info.stats, video.list, video.upload, video.publish.
  • YouTube: youtube, youtube.upload, yt-analytics.readonly.

Publishing and profile-editing permissions are only used when you ask the Service to publish content or update a profile on your behalf. We do not read your private messages, and we do not access accounts you have not connected.

2. How we use information

  • to provide the Service: showing your brands, accounts, content and analytics;
  • to publish or update content on the accounts you choose, when you ask us to;
  • to refresh tokens and statistics in the background so your dashboard stays current;
  • to secure the Service, prevent abuse and fix problems;
  • to communicate with you about your account and important changes.

We do not sell your information, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use data obtained from connected platforms for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.

3. Google user data

PerchSight's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. YouTube data is accessed through the YouTube API Services; by connecting a YouTube channel you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can revoke PerchSight's access at any time from your Google security settings.

4. How we share information

We share information only with:

  • The connected platforms (Meta, TikTok, Google), when we call their APIs on your behalf.
  • Service providers that host and run the Service for us, such as our application hosting, database, file storage and background job providers, under obligations to protect the data.
  • Authorities, when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the Service.

5. Storage and security

Data is stored with our infrastructure providers, which may be located in the United States or other countries. Access tokens are stored server-side and are never exposed to your browser. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you disconnect a social account, we delete its access tokens and stop collecting data from it. When you delete a brand or your account, we delete the associated data, including connected accounts, synced content and statistics, within 30 days, except where we must keep it to comply with the law.

You can also revoke access directly from each platform: Facebook and Instagram in your Meta Business Integrations settings, TikTok under Manage app permissions, and Google in your Google Account permissions. To request deletion of data received from a platform without using the app, use the contact described below.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict its processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly in the Service, or by contacting us. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to complete the authorization flow when you connect an account. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you within the Service.
